According to TMZ, the singer applied for permission to enter the country on a working visa, but Japanese officials flagged him and denied him entry, due to the open investigation into a gun charge from last month.
Apparently, Japan has a low tolerance for admitting visitors with criminal backgrounds and open cases. He is scheduled to play the Tokyo International Forum on Sept. 26-27.
Late last month, Brown was involved in an hours-long standoff with the LAPD, after a woman claimed he pulled a gun on her while hanging out at his Tarzana, Calif. home. He was eventually arrested and released on $250,000 bail.
